Terms of sale

These terms explain what you buy from Petclip, who sells it, and what happens if something is wrong with it. Please read them before you buy. Questions: support@petclip.io.

In short

1. Who we are

Petclip is the trading name of Marfa Tarkhova, a sole trader. Marfa Tarkhova is the seller of everything you buy on this site, and your contract is with Marfa Tarkhova. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Marfa Tarkhova, trading as Petclip.

2. What you are buying

Petclip makes portraits of your pet with AI, from the photos you upload: your pet on their own, or you and your pet together. Each portrait is an AI-generated digital image. It is not a photograph or an artist’s painting, and no person edits it.

Before you pay anything, you see watermarked previews made from your photos, and you choose which ones to buy. If none of them feels right, you don’t need to buy anything. Free previews, and any new versions we offer before you buy, are limited and may change or stop at any time.

When you buy a portrait, you get the preview you chose without the watermark: a standard-size JPEG file straight away and a full-size JPEG file, sharp enough to print, shortly after. It is a digital file you download. We don’t print or ship anything.

For portraits of your pet on their own, you can also buy a moving portrait: about 8 seconds of motion made by AI from your portrait, with no sound. A moving portrait is made after you buy it, so there is no preview of it. Small details can change as your pet moves, and that isn’t a fault. We check every moving portrait before you see it, and if we can’t make a good one, we refund it.

3. AI portraits and likeness

Previews and portraits are made by AI image models from OpenAI (GPT Image), or from Google (Gemini) when OpenAI can’t make one, from your photos and the details you confirm. Moving portraits are made by Google’s Gemini video model. The full-size file of a portrait you buy is your preview enlarged by an AI upscaler, so it shows the same picture you chose; at full size, tiny details can look sharper or slightly different.

Because AI imagines each picture, we can’t guarantee a perfect likeness. Ears, markings, faces, ages, backgrounds and other details may differ from your photos and from real life. You see the portrait before you buy it, so a difference you could see in the preview isn’t a fault in what you bought.

Google adds an invisible SynthID watermark to the images and videos its models make, which marks them as AI-generated. Previews also carry our visible watermark. If you share a portrait publicly, please don’t present it as a real photograph.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown before you upload any photos and again before you pay: $19 for one portrait, $29 for two portraits from one set of previews, $33 for three ($11 each), and $12 for a moving portrait. Prices are in US dollars and include any sales tax or VAT. At checkout you may see the price in your local currency. Every purchase is a one-time payment. There is no subscription. If you buy fewer than three portraits from a set, your order page may offer the others for the difference in price.

Payment is handled by Onelink, a Stripe service, on Stripe’s secure checkout page. Onelink processes your payment and calculates and collects any tax under the Sold Through Onelink Terms, which also apply to your payment. Your purchase is marked “Sold through Onelink”, you get a receipt from Onelink, and your bank statement will show ONELINK* PETCLIP.IO or LINK.COM* PETCLIP.IO. Onelink handles the payment; we remain the seller. We never see your card details.

5. Who can use Petclip

You must be 18 or older to use Petclip and to buy from us.

6. Your photos: what you may upload

Only upload photos that you took yourself or have permission to use. A portrait can include a person, usually you. Anyone shown in a photo you upload must be a living adult who has agreed to be in the portrait.

If you’re in Illinois or Texas, portraits with a person aren’t available yet; you can still have a portrait of just your pet.

Please don’t upload:

We check photos automatically for children and nudity, and we reject photos that show either. This check looks at what is in the picture. It doesn’t identify anyone, and we don’t create face templates.

By uploading a photo, you confirm that you have the right to use it and that everyone in it has agreed. If someone makes a claim against us because you uploaded a photo you had no right to use, you are responsible for the reasonable costs of that claim, as far as the law allows.

We may refuse to make, or stop making, any preview or portrait, for example from photos that break these rules. If we stop a portrait you have already paid for and don’t deliver it, we refund what you paid for it. If we come across material that appears to be illegal, we may report it to the relevant authorities.

If you find yourself in a portrait that was made without your agreement, write to support@petclip.io and we will delete it.

7. Rights in your photos and portraits

You keep all rights in your photos. You give us permission to use them only to make and deliver your previews and portraits, and to keep them for the periods in our privacy policy. We don’t use your photos, previews or portraits to train AI, and we never show them anywhere, on our site, in ads or elsewhere, unless you separately agree.

You may use the portraits you buy for any personal purpose: print and frame them, give them as gifts, share them on social media. Please don’t resell them or use them to advertise a business. Images made by AI may not be protected by copyright in every country, and the AI may make similar images for other people, so we can’t promise you exclusive rights in a portrait.

8. Delivery and your files

Your portrait is delivered as soon as your payment is confirmed. You go straight to your order page, where the standard-size file is ready to download. The full-size file follows, usually within a few minutes. If we have your email address, we also email you the link to your order page. A moving portrait usually takes a few minutes.

Your order page is a private link: anyone who has it can see your portraits, so share it only with people you trust. We keep your files there for up to 12 months after you buy, or until you delete them. Please save copies of your files straight away.

9. All sales are final

You see each portrait before you buy it, so all sales are final. We don’t give refunds for a change of mind, for not liking a portrait, or for differences you could see in the preview.

Your right to cancel (UK and EU)

Portraits and moving portraits are digital content that we start delivering as soon as you pay. Before you pay, you ask us to deliver right away and confirm that you then lose your 14-day right to cancel, by ticking the box next to the pay button. So once delivery has started, you can’t cancel your purchase.

If something is wrong with your file

If a file you bought is damaged, won’t download or isn’t the preview you chose, please tell us at support@petclip.io as soon as you notice, ideally within 30 days of buying. We’ll replace it. If we can’t, we’ll refund what you paid for it. If a moving portrait has an obvious fault, you can ask for a new version on your order page, or write to us.

Because Onelink handles your payment, Stripe may also refund a payment in certain cases, under its own terms.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. In the UK, for example, digital content must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.

10. Our responsibility to you

The website, the free previews and the tools on it are provided as they are. We don’t promise that they will always be available or free of errors, and we may change, pause or stop them at any time. We may refuse or stop any order; if we don’t deliver an order you paid for, we refund it.

We are not responsible for losses that aren’t a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms, for indirect losses, or for business losses: our portraits are for personal use. Where the law allows, our total responsibility to you for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn’t allow it, for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

11. Problems and complaints

If something has gone wrong, write to us at support@petclip.io with the link to your order page or the email address you used. For questions about the payment itself, you can also contact Onelink, as described in the Sold Through Onelink Terms.

12. Law and changes to these terms

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live outside England and Wales, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or, where the law allows, in the courts where you live.

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms shown when you made a purchase apply to that purchase.

How we handle your photos and data: see our privacy policy.
